A little bit about us!
We are a Family-owned & operated, In House, Council Registered & MPI Verified Cake Business. Even though it is I, Ari who does all the Baking and mess making, I refer to us, as “we” as my partner Joey is the one everyone sees when they come collect their delicious bakes, (and is usually the one who does all the cleaning).
Our speciality is Buttercream Cakes, personally i HATE fondant Cakes, so i’ve made it our niche to only create and sell what we would eat ourselves… Not only do we do Cakes, but can also do items such as Cupcakes, Cookies, Doughnuts, Brownie (HANDS DOWN, My Brownie is THE BEST) Fudge and tonne of other sweet treats we bring out on Holidays/Occasions.
Our story
Coming from a HUGE Family, (I am one of 9) i always found myself in the kitchen, helping Mum bake Birthday Cakes, at times we didn’t have a lot, but the one thing she always made sure of was that we had a special Cake on our Birthday. When i finally got to an age where i could bake by myself, i took on the task of making everyones cakes. I cringe and still procrastinate over ones i made when i was like 10? But think since then, i’ve really learned to perfect the Craft of Cakes (and sweet treats) and now have a signature look of my own.
When i was 16 i dropped out of High School, got a part-time job and managed to score an Apprenticeship to become a Qualified Baker… I actually really miss Bread work, (as pictured) but know my heart lies with Cakes!
Whilst studying to become a Baker, i created my own Recipes! Every Flavour/Item i offer is from a recipe that i’ve made, which i really pride myself on, funnily enough none of them use standard baking methods which always catches people off guard! For example, Our Chocolate cake contains Coca-cola, and our Banana Cake is unintentionally dairy free! You get the gist!
After working in the industry for over the past 10 years, and having two Children, i decided to go out on my own which lead to “The Bake-Ari”. (Shout out to an old school friend who came up with that for me, a play on the word “Bakery” but with my name Ari incorporated)
Those special Cakes my mum once baked for me, I now get to bake for all of you out there, whether it’s for Birthdays, Weddings, Work Lunches, Baby Showers etc, I get to be apart of such significant moments, and for that, i am forever grateful!
